Plaas Media is looking for a junior social media writer and website assistant to write, plan and manage social media campaigns and assist the web editor with website uploads and SEO. This is a full-time, office-based post in Lyttelton Centurion.The ideal candidate:
Must have excellent language editing and writing skills.
Must be fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
Must be well versed in researching technical issues and performing fact checking.
Perform accurate live social media coverage for Plaas Media and its clients.
Compile social media posts based on good SEO practices.
Schedule and manage clients’ social media campaigns.
Generate and write statistical reports for clients’ online campaigns.
Assist the web editor with uploads and SEO for website posts.
Assist with the compilation of the electronic monthly newsletter.
Be able to work under pressure and meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
Experience in the agricultural media industry will be to your advantage.
REQUIREMENTS
Start on 1 March 2022 or as soon as possible after that.
Tertiary qualification in writing, communications, languages, journalism, or comparable.
One to three years’ experience in social media coverage, SEO, etc.
Good working knowledge of MS Office, Mail Chimp, Hootsuite, WordPress, Facebook (Meta Business Suite), Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Valid drivers’ license and be willing to travel and attend functions.
Successful shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a test.
Excellent command of Afrikaans and English is compulsory.
Must a team player and people’s person – good people and networking skills is a must.
