CONTEXT

Life Assurance
A seasons accountant with at least 7 years'''''''''''''''' experience
Monthly Accounting and reporting
OUTPUTS
Preparation of management accounts and reports
Oversight of the premium receipt allocation process
Approval of L:
Expense payments
Bank transfers
Journals
General Ledger Account reconciliation and analysis
Management of reinsurance and sundry debtor and creditor accounts, including collections and payments
Preparation of :
- General Ledger
- General Ledger Account reconciliation and analysis
Cash flow maagement, including EFT transfers
Fixed Asset Register maintenance and accounting
Assist with Budgets and Forecasts
Assist in competion of year-end packs
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the discussions and deciions of the team
Maintain good relationships witih all stakeholders
Resolve queries and complaints
Ad-hoc accounting investigations and tasks including
Assist in implementing new IFRS project (IFRS 17)
Assist in the implementation of a new line of business system and integration to the accounting package

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
B Comm Accounting Degree or equivalent
At least 7 years'''''''''''''''' accounting experience in a Finance Department in a similar role including :
- Accounting in a manual environment
Finance and management accounting, including budgeting and variance analysis
Knowledge of accounting packages
Knolwedge of systems and controls
Understanding of Line of business systems and their integration into the accounting system
Group Risk or Life Assurance Industry experience preferable
Technical Insurance Accounting
Reinsurance Accounting and Administration
SKILLS
