My client, an established wheat manufacturer based in the Northern Suburbs is seeking to employ an Assistant Maintenance Manager.The successful candidate will be a Qualified Electrician or Millwright and have 3 - 5 years' experience as artisan in manufacturing environment. The following requirements apply:- Qualified Electrician or Millwright
- 5 Years experience as artisan in manufacturing environment
- Valid South African drivers’ license (Code 8)
- Own reliable transport to and from work
- Strong knowledge and insight in mechanical and electrical systems, pneumatics and PLCs.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
- Good understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
- Computer literate
- Overseeing the maintenance department and manage a team of maintenance artisans and assistants.
- Ensuring preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment are done to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Ensuring maintenance schedules are completed and signed off by required departments.
- Conducting regular inspections and troubleshoot machinery issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Coordinating with production to prioritize maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.
- Maintaining inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability for maintenance and repair purposes.
- Maintaining maintenance stores and workshop.
- Doing regular tool checks and tool inspections.
- Adhering to safety protocols and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Providing technical guidance and training to maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Available for weekend and standby duties every third week.
- Standing in for maintenance manager in his absence.
