My client, an established wheat manufacturer based in the Northern Suburbs is seeking to employ an Assistant Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will be a Qualified Electrician or Millwright and have 3 - 5 years' experience as artisan in manufacturing environment. The following requirements apply: Qualified Electrician or Millwright 5 Years experience as artisan in manufacturing environment Valid South African drivers’ license (Code 8) Own reliable transport to and from work Strong knowledge and insight in mechanical and electrical systems, pneumatics and PLCs. Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues. Good understanding of safety regulations and procedures. Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English. Computer literate Responsibilities: Overseeing the maintenance department and manage a team of maintenance artisans and assistants. Ensuring preventive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment are done to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Ensuring maintenance schedules are completed and signed off by required departments. Conducting regular inspections and troubleshoot machinery issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions promptly. Coordinating with production to prioritize maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules. Maintaining inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability for maintenance and repair purposes. Maintaining maintenance stores and workshop. Doing regular tool checks and tool inspections. Adhering to safety protocols and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with relevant regulations and standards. Providing technical guidance and training to maintenance staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. Available for weekend and standby duties every third week. Standing in for maintenance manager in his absence. Hours: 6:00 to 16:00 SECTOR: Engineering & Technical; Management; Other
