Description:
Our client in the Automotive Industry, requires the services a Legal Compliance Officer to oversee and manage all legal and compliance matters within the company.
Key performance areas:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Monitor and analyse changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company's operations and update internal policies accordingly.
- Facilitate, and provide legal advice and support to management and employees on a wide range of legal issues, including contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
- Conduct training sessions to educate employees on compliance policies and procedures.
- Handle all legal matters and disputes that may arise for and on behalf of the company.
- Manage BBBEE Compliance & audit requirements, in conjunction with the verification agents.
- Develop, implement, and enforce compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of compliance vulnerability and develop corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed and manage relationships with regulatory authorities.

- 1-2 years’ experience post articles
- Admitted Attorney to Law will be advantageous
- Proven experience working in a legal and compliance role within the Automotive Industry will be advantageous
- Excellent computer literacy (MS Office – Outlook, Word & Excel)
- Must have in-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry relations
- Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - must be able to communicate with all levels of employees
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
The successful candidate must have:
- Matric with a degree in Law, Business Law or any related qualification
- 1-2 years’ experience post articles
- Admitted Attorney to Law will be advantageous
- Proven experience working in a legal and compliance role within the Automotive Industry will be advantageous
