Description:
- Develop road and highway design plans, including alignments, cross-sections, and pavement designs, using CAD software and engineering principles.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments for proposed road projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents for road construction and rehabilitation projects.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses to ensure road designs meet safety, durability, and performance requirements.
- Coordinate with transportation agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for road construction projects.
- Manage construction contracts, including bid preparation, contractor selection, and project scheduling.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct field inspections and site visits to assess road conditions, identify maintenance needs, and prioritize repairs.
- Collaborate with traffic engineers and urban planners to optimize road designs for traffic flow, safety, and accessibility.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, contractors, and government officials throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to road engineering and transportation infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience POST PR ENG in civil engineering with a focus on road design and construction.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
- Strong understanding of transportation engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
- Experience with road design software and pavement analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with stakeholders and presenting technical information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with project management processes and construction administration practices.
