Our client in the Manufacturing Industry, requires the services of an innovative and skilled Automation Technician to join their technical support team.
Key performance areas:
- Technical support primarily DF products, but scope of work will also include support on the entire basket of products available
- Development of Auto Cad drawings & design
- Assist in the undertaking of technical projects & Beta Sites as and when needed
- Assist with Assembly : Automation irrigation dosing units; Controllers in cabinets with protection devices; Radio units; Testing software / hardware and Wiring of cabinets and panels
- Troubleshooting controller hardware / software
- Provide training on products related to filters, drip, valves - specific to the installation type and or environment where such equipment is used.
- Providing telephonic and online support to dealers and end users
- Training of dealers and end users on correct usage of automation equipment
- Where required assist with the servicing of filter banks and back flush controllers
- Assist with onsite Drip installation in either South Africa and surrounding countries
- Provide training on products related to filters, drip, valves - specific to the installation type and or environment where such equipment is used.

- Matric with a tertiary qualification in Engineering / Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronics
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of ELV electrical systems and VSD / PLC
- Must have working knowledge of Hydraulics / Flow Dynamics
- Working knowledge of computer hardware systems
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor drawings would be advantageous
- Must be able to work alone and make accurate decisions
- Must be able to give great attention to detail
- Must be willing to travel to various clients in surrounding areas and throughout South Africa
- A valid Driver’s License
The successful candidate must have:
- Matric with a tertiary qualification in Engineering / Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronics
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of ELV electrical systems and VSD / PLC
