Jop Purpose
The Control Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of process control systems. These systems automate various processes within a facility or equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education (essential):
· Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline
Minimum applicable experience (years):
· Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in control systems engineering including APC, ARC, PID and alarm management.
Skills and Knowledge (essential):
· Experience in specific industries (e.g., Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Water Treatment, Mining and Minerals)
· Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations
· Proficiency in PLC and DCS hardware and software
· Experience with control system design and implementation tools
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Other:
· Proficient in Afrikaans and English
· Own transport and license
Responsibilities:
· Design and develop control systems, including control panels, DCS, PLC and HMI
· Implementation and tuning of control systems
· Design communication networks for control systems
· Create control system documentation
· Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with clients to ensure systems meet specifications
· Oversee or participate in control system installation and commissioning
· Provide technical support and training to clients on control systems
· Troubleshoot and diagnose control system problems
· Perform preventive maintenance on control systems
· Stay up-to-date on the latest control system technologies and trends
