Our client in the Automotive Industry has a new position available for a Temporary Automation Engineer. The position will be based in Kariega. Duties:- Preparing specifications for facilities (enquiry’s, cost estimates, project justifications, and technical evaluation of tenders) requirements.
- Frequent liaising with external suppliers and internal customers.
- Managing contractor’s work and ensuring adherence to project requirements, relevant safety requirements, and standards.
- Consulting with other planning sections in an advisory capacity or service provider, to meet their needs for continuous improvement of equipment/systems.
- Establishing project timing plans and project control to ensure adherence to deadlines, cost and quality.
- Preparing information for management decision-making and strategic planning about cost and potential production solutions.
- Managing SQL data for facilities and systems, to support production.
- Developing in-house and innovative solutions for production challenges.
- Using various engineering techniques (Civil, Industrial, Mechanical, and Electrical) to achieve the best holistic solutions.
- Have a National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics /Electrical/ Electronic Engineering.
- At least 3 year’s relevant experience in a Production Environment.
- Have in-depth knowledge of line automation and visualization equipment and processes, layouts and Final Assembly facilities.
- Have knowledge and working understanding of Siemens PLC’s, robotics, networks, automation standards and other automated equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of programming fundamentals.
- Have the ability to conduct meetings and must be able communicate at all levels.
- Must be flexible, positive, self-driven and a team player.
- Be able to work under pressure.
- Proven analytical skills with an innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Computer Literacy (MS Office).
- Be prepared to travel local and abroad so and when required.
