Description:

The Business Process Analyst (BPA) is primarily responsible for analysing and documenting the workflows and operational processes of prospective and actual customers in the Healthcare space and the development of business and functional requirements related thereto.

The BPA is the team member responsible for the creation of detailed analysis documents on the workflows and operational processes of customers. The BPA will then determine and document the variances with Soteria workflows and formulate a strategy to merge the two with related acceptance criteria.

The BPA also works with the deployment team and customer support team to support deployment activities, merge processes, perform change management and resolve incidents.

My client is responsible for development and end-to-end delivery of our high-quality products. They offer web services, integration services and high-quality mobile solutions in the healthcare industry and our back-end infrastructure is built on top of AWS cloud hosting services.

  1. Key Responsibilities:
  • Product team & Business team
    • Supporting the training process.
    • Understand generic healthcare industry requirements.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge in the focus area of our products.
    • Supporting creation of business requirements documentation.
    • Ability to manage client workflow analysis to support scope of work finalization.
  • Project and Scrum Team Engagements:
    • Working within the Project Team as Business Analyst.
    • Working with the other team members to investigate problems.
    • Building and developing high quality solutions to problems.
    • Creating functional specifications with acceptance criteria in accordance with business stakeholders, technical leads or solution architects.
    • Support the entire product lifecycle (concept, scoping, design, test, release and support).
    • Responsible for (business) demonstrations and presentations.
    • Participating in agile scrum events.
  • Reviewing and analyzing existing business processes, workflows, and procedures across different customers, their departments and functional areas.
  • Identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or areas for improvement in current processes.
  • Mapping out process flows using tools like flowcharts, process maps, or swim lane diagrams.
  • Gathering requirements from stakeholders and understanding their goals/pain points.
  • Researching and recommending process redesigns or optimizations to streamline operations.
  • Merging Soteria processes and workflows with existing client workflows and processes
  • Documenting detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and analysis reports.
  • Collaborating with process owners, management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Supporting the implementation of new processes or process changes and perform effective change management.

III. Education & E xperience Required :

  • 5+ years business analyst experience.
  • Direct experience with user story writing in an Agile environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, understand and document workflows and operational processes.
  • Demonstrated user story and acceptance criteria writing skills.
  • Familiarity with various documentation tools, issue tracking tools (Confluence and JIRA) and wireframing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be highly innovative, flexible and self-directed.
  • Experience working in a software development company.
  • Knowledge of healthcare certifications and industry standards (like Meaningful use requirements, HIPAA standards, SNOMED, CDA, ICD, HL7, etc).
  • Knowledge about business process management, notation and tools.
  • Must be able to work well on a personal level with colleagues.
  • Degree or certifications is a bonus (like clinical qualifications).
  • Healthcare domain expertise is a bonus.


  1. Working conditions/Environment:
  • May be required to work beyond office hours – some nights and weekends – as required by the needs of the department and this position as well as the needs of the organisation.
  • Travel might be required for clinical workshops at client sites.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations is required.
  • Manual dexterity required to use laptop, iPad and peripherals.
