DESCRIPTION/SYNOPSYS:
A well-established engineering business, is offering an opportunity to a young, ambitious Junior Accountant, to be situated at their offices in Northriding. Under the mentorship and management of the Financial Manager, the successful candidate will get to learn all aspects of the accounting function. The ideal candidate should be able to work without supervision and willing to learn as they progress.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BCom Accounting degree or studying towards
- 3 years’ experience in a junior finance role
- Accounting software like Xero/Pastel essential
- Strong interpersonal
- Proactive approach to problem-solving
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cashbook processing for all entities including bank reconciliations
- Creditors & debtors experience
- Maintain Fixed Asset register and process depreciation monthly.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
- Prepare and process month-end journals
- Assist with annual audit preparations.
- Statutory returns - VAT, PAYE
- Inter-company transactional processing
