Our client produces quality Italian cheeses in South Africa and they require the services of a Telesales Person. The position will be based in Robertsham.
Market-related salary. It's a 3-month fixed-term contract position with the possibility of going permanent.

TELESALES DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
OVERVIEW
Telesales personnel, are responsible for generating sales of each of the company’s manufactured products. Their focus lies in the contacting of potential or current customers and pin-pointing their needs in order to close sales. Telesales persons must keep accurate records and document customer information, purchases, and reactions.

The job description of a telesales person entails the following:

• To have excellent communication skills.
• To have patience and the ability to engage customers in conversation.
• To ensure polite treatment of and courtesy towards customers, at all times.
• To initiate sales with potential customers, telephonically.
• To listen carefully to customers and their needs.
• To answer customers’ questions about the products.
• To be able to generate repeat sales.
• To have the ability to handle rejection and any stressful situation that may occur, when soliciting customers.
• To gather and document customer information, payment methods and the nature of their purchases, so as to ensure a positive sales/purchase experience, for all involved.
• To keep up to date on all products offered and inform customers of new products, out of stock products and discontinued products.
• To gauge customer reactions to new products.
• To meet sales quotas.
• To enter and update customer information, accurately, in the database.
• To take and process orders in an accurate manner, each time.
• To follow the designated computer program through all the steps.
• To handle all customer grievances to preserve the company’s reputation.
• To go the extra mile so as to facilitate future sales, while always seeking to up-sell.
• To keep thorough records of calls and sales and note any useful information.
• To comply with OSHA and all other safety regulations.
• To service and liaise with all ‘Collect’ customers.
• To undertake weekly switchboard duty.
• To manage the filing of archived invoices and the disposal of old invoices, which are no longer required.
• To work on any Public Holiday, when requested to do so by management.
• To perform any other duties which may be required, that are not listed above.
• Above all telesales persons should be responsible about their jobs, they should enjoy being at work for the pleasant interaction that should take place between them and their customers and between them and their peers.
