Description:
A beneficial career opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual exists in the Epping Services team for a Die Repairer (1) , reporting directly to Services Supervisor based at Epping Plant.
PURPOSE
Responsible to ensure that dies are repaired and maintained in perfect working condition thereby minimizing the printer machine downtime. Do pro-active die maintenance by checking and servicing dies being issued and returned from the production lines. Do repairs on die breakdowns on the machines and inspect dies as they are received from suppliers to ensure they are manufactured to required standard. This is done to ensure that all dies are supplied to machines in a timely manner, ensuring plant efficiency .
RESPONSIBILITIES
DIE REPAIRING
· Pre- and post-production inspection of dies according to set standards and procedures. · Incoming inspection and passing out of new tooling received from suppliers. · Manufacture of dies. · Shape and bend cutting and creasing rules to intricate shapes. · Repairing of dies pre- and post- production. · Repairing of dies at machines during production runs by replacing damaged blade and rubber. · Amend dies as needed for modified products. · File dies away after use. · Assist the operator in troubleshooting on potential die-related issues. · Follow best operating procedures and protocols in how dies are repaired and serviced.MAINTENANCE
· Repairing damaged shells
· Remove waste build up.
· Stripping and replacing of old knives and rubber with new ones.
· Ensure that die related problems is reported and resolved in a timely manner.
· Check stock levels from time to time to ensure that there are no stock outs of critical die components like rules and rubbers.
Work accurately and prevent wasting material and thereby managing costs and maximum efficiency.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have :
· National Senior Certificate
· Die repairer/making training.
· 3 Years experience in Rotary or flatbed die cut machine (if no formal training)
· If formally trained, we require at least 1 years die making experience.
