Production Controller

Description:

Our client, a growing company operating in the FMCG industry, dedicated to deliver on the increasing demand for healthy energy drinks and clean caffeine, has the abovementioned position available for an experienced Production Controller to take responsibility and coordinate the production activities at their facility based in Paarl.

The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager and be responsible for: *Supervising and operating the production plant to produce required volumes *Supervising Production Assistants (where required) to run and operate the production plant *Ensuring that production SOPs are strictly implemented *Tracking and reporting usage and stock on hand of raw materials *Reporting on defects *Working with onsite technicians to carry out plant maintenance and ensure plant availability in line with production requirements *Ensure implementation & maintenance of FSSC 22000 *Providing updated production figures *Maintaining a safe and clean work environment *Assisting with fulfilment activities when required *Supervision, training, and evaluation of Production Assistants *all other tasks related to the role.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• Matric;
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role in a dairy and/or food production plant, including hands-on experience operating machinery (pasteurisation, homogenisation or retort machinery);
• Experience in Quality Control and FSSC 22000;
• Excellent communications skills (English);
• Strong computer skills (MS Office);
• Own reliable transport.

Advantageous:
• Tertiary qualification in Production Planning/Operations.
