United Business, a division of United Business Solutions, is in search of a bookkeeper to join our dynamic team at our Rivonia, Johannesburg office. This role is crucial to maintaining the financial records and ensuring the financial health of our operations within a burgeoning division of our E-commerce focused business, particularly focusing on B2B selling. Utilising cutting-edge Cloud-based accounting software and modern operational management tools, our bookkeeper will ensure a seamless financial workflow, supporting our ongoing business strategies.

United Business Solutions is recognized as South Africa’s leading multi-branded B2B office technology solutions provider, specializing in sales and service of Printing Solutions, Photocopiers, Cloud and On-Site VoIP, Broadband Data, and more. We are in pursuit of a detail-oriented candidate who exhibits strong work ethic, discipline, and a solid background in bookkeeping to manage our financial records meticulously. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring accurate financial reporting, which in turn will drive our business growth, customer acquisition levels, and overall profitability.

Requirements:

  • Accounting: 3 to 4 years
  • Bookkeeping: 3 to 4 years
  • Sage 50
  • Sage Pro

• Maintain and update financial records and transactions on a daily basis

• Ensure accuracy in financial documentation, reconciliations, and reporting

• Collaborate with the sales and operations team to analyse financial data and optimize budgeting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Process invoices, payments, and track expenses

• Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting

• Adhere to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other legal financial obligations

• Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal audits

• Recommend financial optimizations and support strategic business decision-making

• Minimum qualification of Grade 12; a Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role

• Advanced levels of computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office; experience with accounting software and databases

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to interact effectively with team members across various departments

• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills

• Self-driven, motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Willingness to stay updated on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
