They provide services to operators of large utility scale solar projects and have the following opportunity for a Systems Technician/Technologist to join the team.

Job Description:

  • Involved in the integration, testing and programming of weather stations, as well as its data quality.
  • Will work with solar and other meteorological instruments, data logging equipment, software and communication systems.
  • Many of the sites to be supported are in remote locations internationally.
  • These activities include but are not limited to:
    • Data logger programming,
    • Remote technical support,
    • Data scrutinisation and quality control,
    • Design, building, assembly and testing of weather stations (office-based system integration),
    • Interfacing weather station data loggers with various communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet,
    • Modbus RTU RS485, Modbus TCP/IP, RS232),
    • Factory acceptance testing of weather stations,
    • Trouble shooting, fault finding, maintenance, fixing and refurbishment of equipment,
    • Monitoring, processing and reporting on data received from stations,
    • Create high quality project documentation like wiring diagrams, technical manuals and acceptance tests.

  • Experience Within The Solar /Wind / Renewable Energy Industry.: 2 to 3 years
  • Experience With Data Loggers, Meteorological Equipment, Solar Sensors Or Calibrations In General.: 2 to 3 years
  • At least Two years previous work experience within the solar /wind / renewable energy industry.
  • Exposure to data loggers and measurement instruments.
  • Knowledge of computer networks and communication,
  • Experience with SQL,
  • Programming skills (C, C++, CR-basic, Python, etc.),
  • Currently reside / willing to relocate to the Western Cape.
  • At least Two years previous work experience within the solar /wind / renewable energy industry.
  • Exposure to data loggers and measurement instruments.
  • Knowledge of computer networks and communication,
  • Experience with SQL,
  • Programming skills (C, C++, CR-basic, Python, etc.),
  • Currently reside / willing to relocate to the Western Cape.
