Description:
We have a new position available for a Quality Lab Inspector in the Quality Department of our client in the Automotive Industry in Port Elizabeth. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:- Using the CMM to measure wheels and conduct visual inspection for issuing of first offs, SPC tracking and Capability studies.
- Analyse the CMM results, inform relevant personnel on any discrepancies, raise and follow-up on containments (non-conformities), when required.
- Using measuring instruments (verniers, micrometers, etc) to conduct manual measuring of significant characteristics.
- Support with conduct of Routine testing requirements and Product audits.
- Minimum essential tertiary qualification: N6 in Quality or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Quality-specific training in Core Tools (eg SPC) and CSRs would be advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Machine Shop and 2 years of work experience in a Wheel manufacturing plant would be advantageous.
- Should have a thorough knowledge of the Machine Shop and IATF processes.
- Thorough knowledge of Quality standards.
- Knowledge of Problem-Solving Methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications.
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Good decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, be a team-player.
- Honest, have integrity and good communication skills.
4 Shift system position.
