Description:

A well established company based in Kramerville is seeking a Stock Controller.

Duties:

  • To perform daily/weekly/monthly stock takes as required in all stores as well as head office.
  • Spot checks in all stores when deemed necessary.
  • Monitor and track all in/out stock transfers between all stores.
  • To observe wastage in all stores remains under set budgets as prescribed in your report.
  • Ensure all capturing of invoices is done correctly and all errors are fixed weekly as creditors are done.
  • To randomly check stores are following prescribed receiving practices and procedures.
  • Run stock investigations on any problems picked up on any stock items in stores, reporting on the outcome to the operations Team.
  • Creditors checks
  • Assist the accounts Team with their weekly creditor’s checks and ensuring that any errors are corrected so costs remain controlled, and quantities of stock in-store are not affected.
  • Work with the accounts Team to ensure that all creditors are paid weekly and that we maintain a positive relationship with them.
  • Check accounts do not fall behind and get frozen/blocked due to failure to capture invoices in stores
  • Sales checks
  • Perform random run-through checks on specific items in all stores periodically when necessary to determine sales are correct.
  • GAAP (POS System)
  • Ensure you stay up-to-date with any and all developments in the GAAP system.
  • Keep checking that all the stores are online and that their data is moving into the WebApp as it should.
  • Attend refresher training courses at GAAP when necessary.
  • Practice and use as many of the features of the GAAP system to ensure you know your way around it, how it works, know it’s pros and cons, and keep in contact with their support Team for any assistance.
  • Suppliers
  • Keep in the know of our costs the stores are paying for their stock and to flag any changes to the Team.
  • Remain in contact with our suppliers and keep a favourable relationship with them at all times.
  • Always keep an eye out for specials, deals, price-cuts and even rebate possibilities.
  • Stores
  • Ensure you are present in all stores as often as required, showing not only that you are monitoring the situation but there to support the store managers if and when required.
  • Learn how the Seapoint store runs isolated from the rest and how the stock moves in/out of there.
  • Take note of how the GAAP system in Seapoint is setup for their daily counts, spot checks and stock-takes.
  • Budgets
  • Maintain your stock report and keep it updated weekly, sharing it with all stores once completed.
  • Keep an eye on all stock department budgets and ensure the store
  • managers are adhering to them as close as possible.
  • Target to aim for – 30% or below food cost all round.
  • Close off the report monthly saving it in the Google Drive with the operations Team shared in.
  • The Weekly Meeting
  • Attend the weekly meetings presenting to the Team your completed report and noting any takeaways of value and importance so that communication is clear and open.
  • Request spur of the moment meetings with specific stores or teams should there be a need for it.
  • Attend the weekly HQ Team meeting as well.
  • Stock Deductions
  • Once a month, after completing the mid-month stock takes, you need to produce the stores stock deduction reports so that any relative stock losses are recovered by the company in that month’s payroll.
  • Ensure all details of team sizes and all other details are up to date every month with the movement of staff.
  • Daily Reports Checking
  • Ensure that you pull specific reports for all stores daily to catch any errors made in the stores that may affect the GPs, the stock holding quantities or the stock holding figures.

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Relevant degree (Advantageous)
  • Must come from the restaurant industry
  • Must be able to physically lift and move stock
  • Valid Drivers License ( Essential)
  • MS Office (Outlook,Excel)
