Description:Hire Resolve's client is currently seeking a Safety Unit Manager with experience in the mining industry to join their dynamic team in the Free State. As the Safety Unit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the safety and health programs within the mining operation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
- Oversee safety inspections and audits
- Monitor and evaluate safety performance and provide recommendations for improvement
- Lead incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented
- Provide safety training and awareness programs for employees
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices
- Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to develop and achieve safety objectives
- Manage and mentor a team of safety professionals
- National Diploma in Health and Safety Management
- 8 years' experience in safety management in the mining industry
- 5 years' experience in a supervisory role.
- Mine Overseers Certificate would be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards
- Valid Driver's License
