Ivanplats is looking for a Artisan, Auto Electrician
IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.
Suitable candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12, N2, N3 Engineering Studies
- Trade Certificate
- Qualified Artisan, Mechanical or Electrical
- Underground TMM and Machinery Experience
- Courses in Safety, Risk Assessment

- 4+ years as a qualified artisan
- Underground TMM and Machinery Experience
- Courses in Safety, Risk Assessment
- Underground experience (Advanced), Understanding of OEM brands, machines
- Auto-electrical skills (Advanced)
- Brand-specific (i.e. OEM) skills
- Computer skills
- Undertake planned maintenance and unplanned repairs on machines, ensuring maximum availability for mining operations
- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
- Manage self and show up as a good team player
- Monitor costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
- Support Transformation in terms of people, automation/ digitization and sustainability
- Integrate HSEQ into all work processes
- Adhere to and improve reporting processes for area of responsibility
