Job Purpose:
Research, analyses and evaluates requirements for Control & Instrumentation systems.
Design, installs, maintains, develops, tests, repairs and Commissions Control & Instrumentation systems.
Job Specification & Key Responsibilities
§ Evaluates Control and instrumentation systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of electrical engineering.
§ Commissioning, configuration and setting up of soft starters and drives.
§ Analyse, interpret technical specifications and generate control and Instrumentation design as per specifications.
§ Compile overall project documents and equipment manuals with drawings.
§ Confirms system's and components' capabilities of each project’s requirements.
§ Write User Requirements Specifications (URS), Functional Design Specification (FDS), Control Philosophy and other project requirements documentation.
§ Develop materials data sheets, loop drawings, control network requirements and software specifications
§ Write program code for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), design and configure Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) according to the customer requirements
§ Commissioning of automation of PLC and SCADA instruments.
§ Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;
Requirements:
- Plc Programming For Industrial Automation: 2 to 3 years
- Interpretation Of Electrical Drawings: 2 to 3 years
- SCADA Design And Configuration: 2 to 3 years
- Instrumentation Configuration And Calibration: 2 to 3 years
- ECSA Candidate
- Grade 12.
- National Diploma Electrical Engineering (Electronics or Instrumentation)
- Drivers Licence
- Own Car
- Required: Experience
- 3 -5 Years’ Experience
- Extensive Knowledge of PLC Programming skills, SCADA & HMI design, configuration, and implementation.
- Extensive knowledge of Control and Instrumentation Design.
- Extensive knowledge of Commissioning of Control and Instrumentation Systems
- Extensive knowledge of popular PLC, SCADA and electrical products (Schneider, Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Adroit, Aveva.)
- Extensive knowledge of Industrial Networking design and configuration (Ethernet, MODBUS, Fibre optic, Profibus, Devicenet, etc.)
- Intermediate knowledge of Telemetry systems
- Advanced Computer Literacy
- Basic knowledge of Electrical systems Design
- Basic knowledge of Soft Starters and Drives setup and commissioning
Professional Membership Preferred
- ECSA Candidate
