Technical Manager (Abattoir)

My client based in Grabouw has an opportunity for an Abattoir Technical Manager with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience to join their team. FMCG Industry experience essential. The position offers a unique chance for the successful candidate to lead and influence technical strategies and food safety standards at strategic site level. Requirements and Experience:

• A minimum of a BSc in Food Science is essential, alongside significant experience in a strategic site technical leadership role within the FMCG sector
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and drive technical excellence.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Fully bilingual
• Own transport

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Develop and implement strategic technical and food safety plans to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Lead and mentor a team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing food quality and safety.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve processes and food safety and quality standards.
• Manage the day-to-day aspects of the site based technical functions and oversee the FSMS systems, ensuring they are effective and up to date.
• Ensure audit compliance with respect to internal, external, legal and customer requirements.
• Set and drive departmental KPI’s and challenge improvement when required to ensure targets are achieved and improved.
• Ensuring that our customers Codes of Practice is adhered to and any changes are implemented and effectively communicated to the wider business.

Office Hours: 07h30 – 17h30
