Description:
Our client a leading retailer requires the services of an IR / HR Officer to control all personnel general, IR issues, and payroll queries.
Key performance areas:
- Performing interviews and ensuring results are given to candidate
- Appointment of management
- Maintaining and installing discipline
- Handling HR adhoc queries from staff and managers
- Dealing with unions - Shop Stewards
- Ensuring that payroll is running efficiently and effectively
- IR - Counselling, Disciplinary enquiries and Exit Interviews etc.
- Capturing and assisting with the annual budgets
- Drawing up and maintain job profiles of company employees
- Assisting with the annual graduate training programme
- Assisting with performance appraisals
- Authorisation of overtime, manual timesheets, weekend allowances, uniform loans
- Assisting with standby allowances for staff
- Assisting with status changes, remuneration requests and staff advances
- Recruiting of employees
- Maintaining management daily recording sheets
- Manage payroll and personnel team

- Up to 2 years’ experience as a HR generalist will be advantageous
- Knowledge of Human Resource management procedures and practices
- HR experience in a retail environment will be advantageous
- Must be computer literate with thorough SAP knowledge
- Must have experience in Labour Legislation, IR, CCMA , Training Recruitment and Personnel Administration
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Good organization and planning skills
- Creative and innovative
- Must have a driver’s license
- Must be willing to work Saturday mornings and assist with any ad-hock queries
The successful candidate must have:
- Matric with a Degree in Human Resource Management or Labour Legislation (or relevant qualification)
- Up to 2 years’ experience as a HR generalist will be advantageous
- Knowledge of Human Resource management procedures and practices
- HR experience in a retail environment will be advantageous
- Must be computer literate with thorough SAP knowledge
- Must have experience in Labour Legislation, IR, CCMA , Training Recruitment and Personnel Administration
- Excellent inter-personal skills
