Job Description
- Strong understanding of piping and pumping systems
- Competence in designing mechanical systems and knowledge of hydraulics required
- Preparation of conceptual designs and detailed designs including drawings, calculations, project schedules, cost estimates and datasheets.
- Knowledge of tender processes regarding mechanical projects
- Construction experience with respect to the installation of mechanical systems
- Knowledge of applicable mechanical engineering codes such as ASME, API, SANS etc.
- Ability to travel to site for site inspections, kick-off meetings, progress meetings.
- Ability to liaise with key clients regarding mechanical designs
- Knowledge of commissioning of mechanical systems
- Mentorship of junior staff members in mechanical engineering
- Assist with management of projects and staff members

- BSc/BEng Mechanical Engineering
- Pr Eng advantageous
- 8 - 10 years' experience
- Previous experience within the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Industry would be an advantage
- Previous experience with NFPA and firefighting systems would be an advantage
