Minimum Required Qualification:The appointee should: Have a Mine Managers Certificate of CompetencyThe Appointee should:Mine Manager Certificate of CompetencyHave At least 5 years experience in a related role, of which 2 years should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.Strong managerial skills with the ability to lead and motivate the production team;Be computer literate in MS OfficeHave experience in the relevant current Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, regulations as well as to the workplace principles applicable to SHEHave experience in the relevant Mining legislationBe a self-starter, motivated and be results orientated.Exhibit good oral and written communication skills.Be declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant OccupationalAdvantageous Qualifications:Have undergone a Middle/ Executive Managerial Leadership ProgrammeNQF 7 Bachelors Degree or advanced Diploma in Mining EngineeringKey Responsibilities:Driving a culture of Safety ownership with a strong emphasis on behaviour based safetyManaging the Underground Operations Unit teams, safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet both short and long term production objectives.Keeping up to date with latest Mining systems, processes and best practices and make suitable recommendationsAnalysing and interpreting Mining data and reports and takes corrective action as requiredProviding effective problem solving support to the Mining teamsEnsuring that all necessary Mining resources ,(personnel, equipment and materials ) are available as required
