Senior Accountant

Description:

Seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to spearhead financial excellence across borders and drive strategic growth in a dynamic global environment. My client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations across local, group, and international domains.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our financial processes.

This a Fixed Term 12-month contract based in Sandton, Johannesburg North.

Responsibilities:

• Business Partner Management: Vet and accredit potential partners including retailers, service providers, and wallet holders.
• Ecommerce Oversight: Manage financial aspects of our ecommerce operations to optimize performance.
• Procurement Management: Oversee procurement activities to ensure cost-effectiveness and supply chain efficiency.
• Accounts Receivable and Payable: Manage the full cycle of accounts receivable, from revenue recognition to collections, and handle accounts payable including creditors and withdrawals.
• Cash Flow Management: Process cashbooks efficiently and manage cash flow effectively.
• Financial Accounting: Conduct comprehensive financial accounting activities to maintain accurate records.
• Statutory Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate statutory submissions and reviews.
• Tax and Financial Reporting: Compile and review tax calculations and financial statements for compliance and accuracy.
• Stakeholder Reporting: Deliver precise financial reports to stakeholders, senior management, and the board of directors.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within a multinational or cross-border environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficient in financial software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
