• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
• Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant or similar role, specifically in the manufacturing sector.
• Deep knowledge of payroll best practices and South African payroll legal requirements.
• Proficient with payroll software (e.g., Sage, VIP Payroll) and MS Office (especially Excel).
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

• Process monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
• Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and comply with relevant law.
• Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
• Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
• Perform account balances and payroll reconciliations.
• Prepare reports for management on payroll activities and analysis.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
• Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll-related matters.
