Description:
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Prepares cost estimates of materials, equipment and subcontracted services
- Analyse tender, drawings and compilation of a Bill of Quantities for each project
- Place orders for all Project requirements
- Calculation of man power and material needed for the projects
The above work is partly office based, but will have instances where the incubent will have to climb onto or move around the harbour facilities, dry docks and marine vessels

Requirements:
Must have 5 plus years experience in the MARINE Engineering Procurement Environment
Engineering training with N6 or S3 Mechanical Engineering or a Procurement / Logistics Diploma
Must have a valid Code EB license and be able to travel to all South African Ports and on occassion to Neighbouring Countries
