My client is looking for a dynamic QS to join their already established and professional team.
They are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and /or skillsets:
- National Building Diploma / Quantity Surveyor (BTECH/ BSC)
- Registration in the ASAQS (Association for South African Quantity Surveyors) is advantageous
- 3 years of working experience as a Quantity Surveyor
The person will be responsible for the following:
- Review plans and compile a budget of what components are required for the project.
- Interrogate design proposals to determine economies.
- Finalise budgets and submit them for approval
- Compile the detailed bill of quantities.
- Sourcing of contractors
- Design and distribute requests for proposals.
- Conduct quote evaluations
- Conduct tender evaluations.
- Appointment of contractors and acquire heads approval
- Issue letters of appointments
- Review of invoice and compare to construction value and progress on site.
- On issue of certificates including breakdowns and conduct analysis to ensure completion and approve the certificate.
- On payments are approved and processed and capture on system to manage to budget.
- Manage all payments and monitor budget.
- Manage and deal with variation orders.
- Manage delivery times of contractors and ensure no extension of times.
- In the event of design changes, ensure that variation orders and budget increases are approved and tracked.
- Compile cost report per site
- Onsite time assessment and management
- Review of progress onsite
- Track and monitor end times as per contract are adhered to
- Supply new plans on time to minimize delays
- Acquire surveyor general diagram to determine boundaries
- Oversee the enclosure of sites
- Oversee clean-ups and maintenance of sites
