Description:
The Two Oceans Aquarium is looking for a Banqueting Co-ordinator to complement our Conferencing and Events team. We need a well presented, motivated, creative thinker who has a keen interest in the tourism and hospitality sector and an eagerness to contribute to the overall success of one of Cape Town’s top tourist attractions.
The contract position will perform duties under the supervision of the Banqueting Manager to provide administrative and logistical support to the events team.
Requirements:
Essential requirements are:
• Qualification in event management, business, or a related field would be beneficial.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as dictated by business needs.
• Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours, long hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays, when needed.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
•Valid driver’s license
•Proficiency in MS Office suite and hospitality booking systems.
Main responsibilities:
•Event Management Support.
•Assisting with the preparation for up-and-coming events.
•Preparing proposals for clients and maintaining well-organised event records.
•Building and maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners and leveraging these relationships to deliver innovative and memorable events.
•Conducting client meetings and facilitating site inspections.
•Pro-actively communicate event information, setting clear expectations for event deliverables.
•Preparing detailed event reports, cost projections and other financial metrics.
•Analysing and reconciling event details and consolidating the information into actionable event plans.
Reporting to: The Banqueting Manager
Starting date: 01 June or sooner
Salary: To be discussed at interview
