Job Tile: Bending Machine OperatorLocation: Cape TownSalary: Market-RelatedDuties:Set up and configure bending machines based on job requirements, including selecting appropriate tooling, dies, and settings.Load metal workpieces onto the bending machine and position them accurately for bending.Operate the bending machine controls to bend metal components to the required angles and dimensions.Monitor the bending process and make adjustments as necessary to ensure accuracy and precision.Inspect finished parts for quality and adherence to specifications, making any necessary adjustments to the bending machine settings.Perform routine maintenance tasks on bending machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.Troubleshoot and resolve issues or malfunctions that may arise during the bending process.Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.RequirementsPrevious experience operating bending machines, preferably in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.Familiarity with different types of bending machines, including press brakes, tube benders, and roll benders.Ability to understand and use measuring tools and instruments to ensure accuracy of bends.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in metalworking or related field is a plus.
