Description:

A reputable South African logistics company is looking for an experienced Sea Freight Manager to join their team in Cape town. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the Sea Freight channel. * Overall management of Seafreight channel. * Manage and oversee the freight movement of cargo. * Responsible for administration of shipment files. * Monitor and report service providers' performance. * Responsible for Sales and servicing. * Arrange insurance cover and process claims. * Effect creditor's disbursements and process debtor's invoices. * Comply with the requirements of the quality management system. * Matric. * 3-year freight forwarding related qualification at NQF level 6 or equivalent. * Minimum 10 years Seafreight Import and Export experience in freight forwarding industry. * Minimum 5-years' experience in the similar role. * Process knowledge on the movement of goods throughout the supply chain. * Sound knowledge of international trade principles. * Sound knowledge of Shipshape systems. * Customer service orientation - Able to handle a demanding customer environment. * Good problem solving and decision-making skills. * Dynamic self-starter that works independently. * Attention to detail and handle pressure. * Can communicate within the team and contribute to the overall success of the team. * Adaptable as this is a constantly changing environment. * Have budgeting and forecasting skills. * Have the demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities within current and new client base. * Matric. * 3-year freight forwarding related qualification at NQF level 6 or equivalent. * Minimum 10 years Seafreight Import and Export experience in freight forwarding industry. * Minimum 5-years' experience in the similar role. * Process knowledge on the movement of goods throughout the supply chain. * Sound knowledge of international trade principles. * Sound knowledge of Shipshape systems. * Customer service orientation - Able to handle a demanding customer environment. * Good problem solving and decision-making skills. * Dynamic self-starter that works independently. * Attention to detail and handle pressure. * Can communicate within the team and contribute to the overall success of the team. * Adaptable as this is a constantly changing environment. * Have budgeting and forecasting skills. * Have the demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities within current and new client base.
