Description:
Cost Accountant
Area: Epping, Cape Town
Salary: R35000 to R50000 depending on experience and qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Build and improve costing templates documents, and records of the organization.
· Analyze and report on financial performance against budget, highlighting variances and identifying trends.
· Assess actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
· Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies and report on margins by product and division.
· Assist in the formulation of budgetary and accounting policies.
· Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
· Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
· Update standard costs in the bill of materials.
· Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
· Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, and others.
· Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.
Requirements:
- Manufacturing: 3 to 4 years
- Standard Costs: 3 to 4 years
- Variance Reports: 3 to 4 years
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting or related field.
· Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience in manufacturing and importing costings preferable
· Preference will be given to AA applicants
