The Africa Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the performance and relationships with agents across Africa, while also mitigating risks associated with shipping, customs, and logistical challenges within the region. This position ensures compliance with trade regulations, customs laws, and import/export requirements, while staying abreast of market trends and competitor strategies. Problem-solving and support for operational efficiency, including route optimization, are key aspects of this role.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the clearing and forwarding industry, with a focus on African trade, in-depth knowledge of trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics in the African region and tertiary qualification in international supply chain management.

Proven experience in business processes design and implementation
Commercial expertise including agent management

Duties and Responsibilities:
Africa Agent Network Management:
Facilitate the onboarding of new agents as required.
Cultivate strong relationships with agents to foster trust and cooperation.
Define and measure relevant KPIs for evaluating agent performance.
Establish a system for regular evaluation of agent performance.
Client Management:
Understand and address client-specific trade needs in Africa.
Collaborate with Business Development and Operations to deliver effective solutions.
Risk Management:
Identify and address potential risks related to shipping, customs, and documentation.
Promptly find solutions to issues such as delays or disruptions in the supply chain.
Collaboration on Pricing Strategy:
Work with sales, operations, and Trade Lane to align Africa pricing strategies with business objectives.
Provide inputs for pricing strategy development based on market dynamics and customer demands.
Information Management and Reporting:
Conduct market research to monitor competitor pricing and identify emerging trends.
Prepare various reports including KPI reports, market and industry reports, profitability reports, and risk management reports.
Ensure accurate upload of Africa information on internal systems.
Utilize relevant Management Information Systems for decision-making.
