My client, based in Stellenbosch, is hiring a Field Service Technician. Focused on solar energy solutions globally, they support solar project developers with vital services. This role involves writing reports and practical tasks with meteorological instruments and data loggers. Responsibilities encompass remote fieldwork and upkeep of utility-scale solar installations. Travel to sites is bi-weekly for five days, overseeing project management from travel arrangements to on-site operations and client interactions.Education:
- NDip/BTech Electronic/Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Programming data loggers
- Providing technical assistance remotely
- Developing, constructing, and testing weather stations (integration done in the office)
- Connecting weather station data loggers to diverse communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, Modbus RTU RS485, Modbus TCP/IP, RS232)
- Diagnosing issues, locating faults, maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing equipment
- Supervising, analyzing, and presenting data from stations
