Our Client a Global tech firm is seeking a L1 Desktop Support Engineer to join their team in Cape town. They offer stability, growth, attractive rates and an excellent working environment. As a L1 Desktop Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for assisting our customers with all of their desktop computer and laptop issues. Your role will require that you have solid knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (e.g., Windows 7/8/10), hardware (i.e., printers, scanners) and software applications (e.g., Office). Knowledge of networking protocols is also required in order to assist customers remotely over the internet using technologies such as Remote Assistance or web-based tools like TeamViewer etc.. *Requirements* * Installs, configures, and maintains PCs (laptops and desktops) on networks or individual computers * Provides technical expertise to resolve PC issues and troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems. * Identifies and resolves client issues related to operation of networked PCs and computer applications. * Performs PC maintenance activities including boot-up, shutdown, installation and removal of operating system software, configuration and optimization, application and utility software installation, antivirus program updates, and user account management. * Configures client computers for optimal use including ensuring optimum communication with data/voice systems and applications. * Provides remote assistance using a remote Provides dedicated support for hardware and software support needs of an assigned population of end users * Resolves hardware system problems in accordance with local company policies. *Qualifications* * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field * Experience with a desktop application, web services, and/or server software required. * Strong technical skills in Windows Server operating systems preferred. * Must have at least 3 years of experience in a desktop support environment * Must have experience working with the following operating systems: Windows 7, 8, 10 and Server 2008 R2.
