Description:

  • A key part of South African business leadership team, the Group Finance Manager will support and work with the Finance Director , sales lea d co dership and senior management teams to provide relevant and timely financial information an mmercial insight in order to support predictable, profitable and efficient revenue growth.
  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the finance team for the South African business providing robust, accurate , transparent and timely financial information including, but not limited to , monthly management accounts , relevant KPIs and analysis , annual audited financial statements, cash and profit forecasts , annual budgets, capex requirements, order backlog and sales pipeline.
  • M aintain and continuously improve a robust framework of systems and management controls in the business so that existing and acquired businesses share consistent internal practice and policy and transactions are processed consistently with high levels of automation and efficiency.
  • Engage with external advisors as necessary including external auditor and financial statement preparers during the annual audit process , external tax agents for corporate income tax compliance , liaison with insurance brokers during annual renewal and liaison with outsourced company secretarial pro viders taking overall responsibility for company secretarial matters .
  • Be r esponsible for the proper management of the Group’s South African tax position, including corporate income tax, VAT, all payroll taxes and social security and withholding tax es . Ensure the correct amount of tax is paid in South Africa and other jurisdictions in which the business operates .
  • Manage the South Africa business treasury position . Maximise cash inflow by managing timely and accurate billing, AR collections and otherwise safeguarding and maximising the business’ contractual recurring revenues.
  • Management of payroll processes and reporting for the client in South Africa , including commi ssion calculations and payouts , deductions and retirement funding.
  • Participate in special and ad-hoc projects as required .

  • Relevant Financial Management degree with relevant post graduate accounting qualification
  • CIMA qualification would be advantageous
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS for SMEs
  • Demonstrable experience in a financial management role or sufficient relevant experience to succeed in this role
  • The ability to manage business pressures and client expectations while maintaining a high degree of motivation and professionalism whilst managing multiple work streams
  • Excellent verbal and written c ommunication skills, comfort operating at the senior level and with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and people management ability with a proven track record in delivering performance in a leadership role
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and the ability to work with large data volumes
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team geographically dispersed over multiply office locations
  • Self-motivated, results-drive, delivery focussed and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Relevant Financial Management degree with relevant post graduate accounting qualification
  • CIMA qualification would be advantageous
