SENIOR GIS ANALYST: GIS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
BASIC SALARY: R478 299 TO R570 387 PER ANNUM ● REF NO: CS 57/24 ● CIVIC CENTRE, CAPE TOWN
Requirements:
- A relevant National Diploma or higher
- A minimum of five (5) to six (6) years’ relevant GIS experience within an environment managing/maintaining corporate spatial information according to Corporate Standards and the Spatial Data Infrastructure Act
- Extensive knowledge of the Esri GIS Suite, with working experience in ArcGIS Pro, Geodatabases, ArcGIS online and mobile applications
- Registration as a GISc Practitioner with PLATO is advantageous
- Computer proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of SAP
- A valid driver’s licence.
Key performance areas:
- Assist with spatial data warehousing/dissemination to ensure the availability of quality up to date base data for the various departments requiring spatial information for planning and operational purposes
- Consult on Corporate Spatial Datasets/Databases to ensure and coordinate better quality spatial data for use by City and external stakeholders and to fulfil the requirements of Spatial Data Infrastructure Act
- Respond to internal and external requests in order to provide up to date spatial data, and technical GIS support to meet the information needs of departments for improved service delivery
- Assist with GIS-related projects in order to ensure that relevant spatial information is captured, maintained and disseminated for improved service delivery
- Coordinate and manage initiatives towards identification of new GIS technologies and techniques.
