ASSISTANT PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: BUSINESS APPLICATIONS

BASIC SALARY: R373 295 TO R466 602 PER ANNUM ● REF NO: CS 56/24 ● CIVIC CENTRE, CAPE TOWN

Requirements:

  • Minimum of National Diploma. Applicants with higher tertiary qualifications (e.g. B degree) will be given preference
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ relevant experience within an IT environment will be advantageous.

Key performance areas:

  • Participate in all phases of software application development lifecycle with an emphasis on software design, development, configuration, testing, release, and maintenance of internal and external web-based software systems
  • Apply basic concepts and theoretical knowledge in a specific discipline, supporting a senior/principal specialist/generalist or manager
  • Handle of routine correspondence and enquiries about the functioning of the Department/Branch
  • Apply knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and programming experience to design, develop, configure, release, and maintain software
  • Make design decisions to create innovative, elegant and re-usable software systems
  • Develop key components and modules
  • Collaborate with senior developers to constantly improve the software development process.
  • Work closely with senior developers to ensure the release of high-quality products.
