Description:

Hire Resolve's client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Import Controller to join their team in the Logistics industry in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the import process, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods from international suppliers to our clients in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and monitor all aspects of the import process, including customs clearance, shipping, and transportation.
  • Liaise with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation for customs clearance and compliance with import regulations.
  • Track and report on the status of shipments, identifying and resolving any delays or issues.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to ensure smooth communication and coordination of import activities.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers to negotiate rates and terms for import services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all import activities.
  • Stay up-to-date on import regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in the import process.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in import/export logistics, preferably in the freight forwarding industry.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and logistics software systems.
  • Certification in customs brokerage or import/export management is a plus.
