Description:
The Quality and SHE Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality, safety, health, and environment within this manufacturing facility, The primary role entails developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive Quality systems and SHE programs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies. You will also be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our overall performance.
Key Responsibilities will be:
Quality
• Develop, implement, and maintain an effective Quality management system, policies, and procedures, and to drive compliance to maintain and improve on our external accreditation and audit results. (FSC, BRC & PEFC)
• Lead the quality team to provide effective services to the business such as Quality assurance, job bags, stereo management and control, colour draw downs sample manufacture etc.
• Oversee the NCR process and drive cross-functional team interaction to fully investigate NCRs and to eliminate root causes.
SHE
• Develop, implement, and maintain an effective Safety, Health, Environment, (SHE) management system, policies, and procedures, and drive compliance to achieve safety in the workplace.
• Champion compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards pertaining to safety, health, environment, and quality in the manufacturing environment.
• Regularly conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazardous conditions, practices, and equipment, and recommend appropriate corrective measures to mitigate risks.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on SHEQ-related matters, including training programs, safe work practices, emergency preparedness, and incident investigations.
Leadership
• Foster a proactive safety culture by promoting employee engagement, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and analyze Quality and SHE performance metrics, generate reports, and provide recommendations for improvement to senior management.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Quality and SHE standards, identifying areas for improvement and initiating corrective actions as necessary.
• Keep abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to safety, health, environment, and quality management, and provide recommendations for adjustments to existing programs, policies, and procedures.
• Develop and deliver effective training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to raise awareness and ensure compliance with Quality and SHE standards.
• Coordinate incident investigations, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, external auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance, permit applications, and successful completion of Quality and SHE related projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Proven experience (3 years) in a similar role within a manufacturing environment with key focus on Quality.
• Comprehensive knowledge of national and international safety, health, environment, and quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with ISO standards, BRCGS, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Sound Knowledge of the OHS Act No.85 of 1993 and Regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the aptitude to initiate and lead change.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proactive approach to identifying potential risks and addressing them effectively.
Proficient in using computer applications, including MS Office suite and SHEQ management software.
