Description:
- Attend to all mechanical, instrumentation and electrical breakdowns.
- Regular inspections of equipment.
- Fault-finding and problem-solving on equipment.
- Regular maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Reporting on conditions of equipment, advise management of electrical and mechanical problems and recommend activities to minimize the number of breakdowns.
- Interpret deviations recorded and rectify deviations.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities as per Plant Safety Regulations, preventative maintenance plans and maintenance procedure.
- Investigate and analyse cause and effect of breakdowns on equipment
- Understand basic hydraulics, pneumatics and lubrication.
- Carry out basic rigging and assist stage crew where necessary.
- Ensure all supporting documentation is completed within the required timeframes and in the format specified (Job card Completion and other related paper work).
- Analyse proposed modifications and provide input regards the implementation of ideas and carry out modifications within the required timeframes.
- Troubleshoot on DCS, PLC's and (AC and DC) drives.
- Identify where quality and safety can be improved.
- Participate in improvement programmes and initiatives.
- Maintain safe work environment.
- Comply with relevant legislative requirements and standards.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained and customer requirements addressed.

- Read, interpret and understand electrical and basic mechanical drawings.
- Promote environmental and safety awareness regarding the potential impact of activities, process and materials utilised.

- This qualification could have been obtainedthrough either a formal apprenticeship (section 13) or Section 28 of the Manpower Training Act.
- Minimum 2 Years’ experience in a related field post Apprenticeship.
