Duties:

  • Ensuring that the operations of the business run smoothly, and that the high standard of projects is maintained qualitatively, timeously, and profitably
  • Strategic planning & implementation:
    • Critical analysis relating to:
      • Environment
      • Needs
      • Market assessment
      • Planning
    • Project design:
      • Determine time frames
      • Allocate resources
  • Implement strategies:
    • Manage strategic plans (Monitor, adjust, redesign)
    • Structure according to strategy
    • Design and implement policy, conditions and guidelines
    • Monitor and coordinate
  • Management of the operations:
    • Staffing to needs and operational requirements
    • Determine liaison protocol systems internally and externally
    • Design project timelines and programs in conjunction with all role-players
    • Design and implement best practice codes, values, policies, systems, and practices
  • Organizational management:
    • Human Resources management
      • Design and implement best practice codes, values, policies, systems, and practices
      • Recruitment, selection, and appointment of personnel in conjunction with other management
      • Design and implement reporting and communication systems and protocols
      • Design and implement performance output requirements (challenging, reasonable, achievable, fair & equitable within suitable time frames)
      • Design & implement motivation systems and practices
      • Design and implement incentive systems
      • Determine training and development needs and protocols
    • Manage legal compliance programs and systems
    • Manage discipline
      • Management of assets and equipment
  • Representation of the Company:
    • Internal stakeholders
      • Meetings
      • Planning sessions
      • Evaluation of operations and management practices (both formal & informal)
    • External stakeholders
      • Identify key role players
      • Determine liaison level, personalities, approach, importance, impact and desired outcome as well as frequency and follow-up

  • Running construction site, overall site management, and overseeing all construction
  • Plan all aspects of the build
  • Setting out of the site

  • Overseeing wet work
  • Ordering relevant materials

  • Must be fully computer literate with knowledge of construction software
  • The ability to assess a situation and the persons involved
  • The ability to read non-verbal communication and assess the other party’s response and attitude towards the message given
  • Excellent communication skills on all levels
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • The ability to adjust and compromise to meet the demands of any situation
