Our client a Technical Specialist in the Engineering and Mining Industry is currently recruiting a Junior Buyer/ Procurement Officer for their Centurion Offices.
We require your working knowledge of sourcing and purchasing various goods including machinery, equipment, raw materials and/or other supplies for internal consumption.
Required qualification and working knowledge:
- Completed Matric and relevant Diploma.
- Must have own car and valid driver's license.
- We require 2 to 5 years of buying, purchasing, and procurement work experience

- Responsible for purchasing various goods including machinery, equipment, raw materials, and/or other supplies for internal consumption
- Obtaining and negotiating prices, delivery, terms, and sources of supply following specified policies and procedures
- Ensure and maintain daily outputs
- Monitor supplier performance with regard to delivery, quality, and quantity
- Process internal requisitions for orders
- Expediting orders, following up with suppliers
- To report any urgent issues regarding stock levels and supply issues
- To keep a good communication path between suppliers, customers, production, and management
- Sourcing of current and new products, negotiating pricing
- Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports, and price lists
- Communicate with intercompany divisions regarding stock requirements and communicate with the relevant departments
- Administer contract performance, including receipt, and delivery
- Comply with all Company processes and procedures, regulations, and standards
- Use computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, word-processing, calendars, e-mail, and database software in performing work assignments and providing reports
