Field Service Technician

Description:

Provide support to after sales and service team by offering excellent customer service, product knowledge and technical expertise to all customers. Be able to work independently and have the ability to quickly identify technical issues and develop a positive solution to complex issues. The role requires an individual with good attitude, a team player and someone who is willing go an extra mile to ensure our customers are happy. Service Technician must be able to travel to all customer sites, attend to shut down, prepare travel plans, compile a visit or service report and perform inhouse repairs and maintenance of equipments on various sites.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssembly/dismantling, repair, maintenance, and overhaul of mechanical seals at our workshop, as well as at the customer's siteCreate a comprehensive mechanical seal failure report detailing findings of the failed sealInstallation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of agitators and systemsClose cooperation with the service team in South Africa as well as in GermanyCarrying out quality checks on assemblies and mechanical sealsCreating coherent visit reports and service reportEnsure that all call out orders are processed in a timely manner by ensuring such work have a signed time sheet and work orderTake note of technical issues the customer has on site, ask questions and ensure customer have necessary operational spares.Constant communication with customer and organizing site visits where necessary.Building relationships with customers and potential customers to understand their requirements.Provide support to after sales and service to meet business objectives and customers needs in relation to product and servicesEnsure efficient and effective management of inventory list and ensure used or sold spares part are replenished.Maintain accurate records of outstanding quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company databases including Smart Business Client(SBC)Be able to read, check and interpret technical drawingsMaintain expert level of product knowledge and applications.Carry out all other reasonable tasks that maybe delegated from time to timeDesired Experience & QualificationMinimum N6 or National Diploma in Mechanical EngineeringExstensive travel - Loacal and cross borderExperience of at least 2 - 3 years in agitators, mechanical seals, pumps, and gearboxesTechnical drawingWorked in a similar role as a fitter or technicianProficient in Excel and MS Office applicationsBackground knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety will be a major advantageMust pay attention to details, professional attitude and reliableAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Must have a valid drivers licensePackage & RemunerationR35K to R40K BasicPlus company car and Fuel13th ChequeCellMedical Pension
