Are you an experienced accountant looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact? Join my client as a Brand Accountant and take on a pivotal role in financial management and reporting.
This position is based in Johannesburg North.

Duties:
  • Financial Planning, Forecasting, and Budgeting:
    • Collaborate with management to develop detailed budgets for each campus and account, leveraging historical data and trend analysis.
    • Support Principals and Managers throughout the budget compilation process.
    • Monitor performance, conduct variance analysis, and provide insightful recommendations.
    • Maintain communication with Group Shared Services for revenue collection and asset management.

  • Financial/Management Accounting:
    • Reconcile billing and payments monthly and annually, ensuring accuracy.
    • Manage inter-company loans and provide financial guidance to Principals and the Brand Management team.
    • Review complex accounts and oversee reconciliation processes.
    • Address queries from campuses and coordinate resolutions with Group Shared Services.

  • Financial/Management Reporting:
    • Analyze financial performance for each campus and the overall brand.
    • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
    • Generate cash flow forecasts and manage monthly management accounts.
    • Deliver MANCO reports within specified deadlines.

  • Compliance:
    • Enforce adherence to financial policies and procedures across campuses and brands.
    • Facilitate internal and external audit processes, addressing queries and implementing corrective actions.
    • Provide training on financial policies and procedures to campus staff.
    • Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and approve expenditures as per authorization matrix.

  • Staff Management:
    • Manage day-to-day workflow and ensure timely completion of tasks.
    • Identify critical skills needed for sustainable service delivery.
    • Facilitate staff training to enhance skills and efficiency.

Job Experience and Skills Required:
  • Completed BCom in Accounting or Finance related field
  • Completed Honours / Post Graduate Degree is advantageous
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position
