As a Fitter and Turner in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment used in the production process. You will be tasked with maintenance, repair, and adjustment of machinery to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety protocols are crucial for success in this role.- Machine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of machinery including but not limited to conveyor systems, packaging machines, filling machines, and labeling equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical issues, identify root causes of equipment malfunctions, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Machine Adjustments: Make necessary adjustments to machinery to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
- Parts Replacement: Replace worn or defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks. Report any safety hazards or concerns to management immediately.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 of experience as a Fitter and Turner in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Qualifications: A relevant trade qualification (e.g., Fitter and Turner certification) is required. Additional certifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are advantageous.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
