This large facility is home to a very long-established group consisting of a warehouse / distribution type operation, retail, as well as property tenants all under the same roof. The senior electrician and yourself would be responsible for the overall electrical maintenance of the facility. You would be a qualified electrician and proven yourself in a similar facility / property maintenance type role (DB wiring, plugs etc.) A strong work ethic, reliability and a nice manner with people would be important for this role.
Non-traditional working hours and a need to be available if there is a call-out requires you to live close to City Deep or able to relocate. Working hours are Monday to Friday 07h00-15h30 and Saturdays 07h00-12h00 with one Saturday morning off per month.
· Qualified with a couple of years similar electrical / general maintenance experience
· Planning of all cable requirements, plug positions, circuit breaker requirements and fittings for new tenant spaces – as well as completing the installation
· Competent in a variety of workshop tool usage: Skilled with a drill, grinder, hammers, screwdrivers, spanners, etc.
· A general knowledge of the following would be an advantage:
· Fitting and replacement of new doors and windows, handles and locks.
· A reasonable knowledge of repairs to cupboards/ cabinet doors and hinges.
· Painting, plastering and some basic plumbing pipe connections
Previous experience and willingness to perform work at heights
· Will be required to work on their sky jack lift at 9 meters height for light bulb replacement and repairs to fittings.
