Job Purpose and objectives:
The Regional Internal Controller guarantees to the South African Region (SAREG) management the accuracy, exhaustivity, consistency, and integrity of the internal control processes present within South Africa Region entities and managerial branches.
The position ensures, in liaison with the Chief Finance Officers located in the South Africa Region entities, that internal control processes duly assure achievement of the organization's objectives in operational effectiveness and efficiency, reliable financial reporting, and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
The Regional Internal Controller's main objectives are as follows:
o To perform a full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability, and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
o To improve risk management through risks and internal controls assessments,
o To advise local management in their efforts to implement internal controls and help them set up group-wide risk management procedures and tools,
o To ensure that entities monitor and comply with the internal control procedures and to communicate on internal control culture,
o To put forward relevant suggestions for improving processes if weaknesses in procedures arise.
Job Summary: Describe the Primary functions of the job
ü Participate in control and audit missions within SAREG subsidiaries ( scope of around 11 countries ) by determining internal audit scope and developing annual plans
ü Obtain, analyze, and evaluate accounting documentation, reports, data, flowcharts etc
ü Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
ü Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding the sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards
ü Assist the subsidiaries with relevant recommendations to prepare any Internal Audit led at The Company group level
ü Participate and propose changes in our internal control process in its different dimensions: framework, self-assessment campaigns, tools,
ü Support subsidiaries in preparing the Audit Committee and the anti-corruption system in compliance with the obligations (notably under the Sapin 2 French law - accounting controls pillar)
ü Manage other internal control and process improvement projects at the request of management: due diligence in the event of an acquisition, fraud audits
Requirements:
- Auditing Risk Analysis: 5 to 6 years
- Auditing Standards: 5 to 6 years
- Compile Data: 5 to 6 years
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
ü Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of internal control standards, accounting techniques, and financial regulations
ü Experience
Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Management
5 years experience in audit or internal control in a multinational or in an audit/consulting firm
Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations
Strong skills and proficiency in MS Software.
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports
Experience abroad would be a valuable asset
