Description:

Our client, a well-established and premium international FMCG manufacturing company, focused on personal care products, seeks to expand business opportunities in South Africa/Africa and build a sales and customer service division.

Please note this role is a remote working role, reporting to head office abroad, and is initially on a fixed term contract; acting as a development product agent, with the view to building a satellite division in SA

We do require a hands-on manager, who has experience in business development within the formal and informal retail sector, with expansion into Africa being a long term goal.

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION

  • You must be able to work independently and accurately keep records and be proactive in your approach to ensuring the profitability of the company
  • You will have a tertiary qualification in either Business or Sales/Marketing, coupled with 10 + years experience in FMCG or Consumer Packaged Goods business development, as a senior level
  • You will have experience in developing and implementing sales strategies for accelerating growth, develop business plans for various regions and markets (informal and formal), as well as create/maintain and expand distributor relationships
  • You will have a hands-on approach and be experienced in building relationships, negotiating with retailer stakeholders, be proficient in providing stock and ensuring merchandising efficiency in store
  • This role requires extensive travelling in SA and eventually across borders into Africa, therefore you must be prepared to spend significant time away from home
  • A strong self-discipline, work ethic, drive and results driven/entrepreneurial traits are essential
  • You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
